Max Liao RMT
Max graduated from the 3200 hour Registered Massage Therapy program at Langara College in Vancouver, where he gained his skills by treating a variety of populations from outreaches such as the West Vancouver Senior Activity Center, Harbour Dance Studio, The Hive Bouldering Gym, Vancouver General’s Spinal Cord Injury Center (ICORD), and St. John’s Hospice.
Throughout his education, Max has developed strong believes in the importance of patient-focused care. He also appreciates how massage therapy positively help each group of population from children to seniors, from sedentary lifestyles to weekend warriors, and from office workers to labour workers.
Now Max focuses each treatment session addressing the root causes while paying attention to the patient symptoms. His treatments often incorporate techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial and trigger point release, joint mobilization, active and passive stretches. At the end of the visit, Max often provides specific home care instructions, which he believes is just as important as his treatment.
Outside work, Max enjoys playing basketball, cooking, drawing and painting.
