Dr. Edward Ko BSc DC

Dr. Edward Ko earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the , after receiving his bachelor's degree in Biology from the . He is currently a licensed member of the and the . Dr. Ko has also studied Acupuncture at CMCC as part of the Clinical Acupuncture Certificate program. He continues to advance in the field of chiropractic medicine, recently completing course work in spine Rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy and .

Since first starting chiropractic treatment during early childhood for a hip condition, Dr. Ko had a passion in pursuing a career as a health care professional. His philosophy embraces treating the root cause of a problem, not the symptom; and treating the patient, not the disease. Dr. Ko believes in an active therapy approach that blends chiropractic principle, soft tissue therapy and physical Rehabilitation in perfect harmony.

Outside his office Dr. Ko enjoys a variety of physical activities such as swimming, playing badminton, personal training, skiing and hiking. He also enjoys listening to classical music and travelling.


Justin Shing BSc(Kin) MPT

Justin graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy at the in Australia, after he earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from . His education in Sydney focused on the importance of evidence-based manual-therapy to treat various conditions related to function of the body.  After completed his education, Justin gained his clinical experience working in a busy sports physiotherapy clinic and a rehabilitation hospital in Australia where he helped patients sustaining sports-related injuries, motor vehicle injuries, work-related injuries, and rehab post-operatively. He also worked as a Kinesiologist for several years in Vancouver.

Justin uses a patient focused approach combining manual therapy, exercise program, and therapeutic modalities.  Being an active participant in many sports, Justin has had his fair share of injuries and experienced firsthand how physiotherapy can be an effective form of recovery as well as injury prevention. During your first visit, Justin will conduct a thorough health history, followed by physical examination. Through open discussions, he will explain the your health conditions and individuated physiotherapy treatment plans. Justin is dedicated working alongside patients to reach each patient's goals.

Outside work, Justin enjoys watching and playing various sports such as playing volleyball and frisbee throughout the year. In the winter, he can be found on the local mountains snowboarding. In the summer time, Justin likes to spend his time outdoors doing activities such as hiking and camping.


Nicolle Perez RMT

Nicolle is a graduate from the 3,000 hour program at the in New Westminster and a member of the . She has extensive experience in treating a diverse group of patients and the privilege of working with different health conditions at the G. F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre, the Burns Plastics and Trauma Unit at Vancouver General Hospital, the B.C. and the Multiple Sclerosis InReach Clinic at WCCMT.

Her practice focuses on postural awareness, pain management and stress management. Nicolle's treatments consist of a moderate to deep pressure swedish massage combined with various techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point release, joint mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, manual lymph drainage, active & passive stretching and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Nicolle strives to help patients reach their goals and return to a pain free lifestyle by creating individualized treatment plans, and educating patients in proper self care by providing easy home care techniques, especially for those with a busy lifestyle. All treatments are catered to each individual's needs, concerns or preferences.

When Nicolle is not in the clinic, she enjoys traveling, kickboxing, watching movies, going to concerts and spending time with friends & family.


Max Liao RMT

Max graduated from the 3200 hour Registered Massage Therapy program at in Vancouver, where he gained his skills by treating a variety of populations from outreaches such as the West Vancouver Senior Activity Center, Harbour Dance Studio, The Hive Bouldering Gym, Vancouver General’s Spinal Cord Injury Center (ICORD), and St. John’s Hospice.

Throughout his education, Max has developed strong believes in the importance of patient-focused care. He also appreciates how massage therapy positively help each group of population from children to seniors, from sedentary lifestyles to weekend warriors, and from office workers to labour workers.

Now Max focuses each treatment session addressing the root causes while paying attention to the patient symptoms. His treatments often incorporate techniques such as Swedish massage, myofascial and trigger point release, joint mobilization, active and passive stretches. At the end of the visit, Max often provides specific home care instructions, which he believes is just as important as his treatment.

Outside work, Max enjoys playing basketball, cooking, drawing and painting.
